How my flaws and defects have made my life awesome

Some time ago I reached my limit. I was tired of blaming myself: my flaws and defects. I got frustrated because nothing I did was working, I was not able to remove those defects and that was killing me. Until one day I decided to change my mindset: What if our defects actually make us better? What if they are actually important for us to develop?. As you can imagine it was easier as I though:

- I am selfish, and this let me create a family and have good friends
- I am egoist and this helped me not to give myself away
- I am full of hate, and this gave me courage to fight for what is right
- I am lazy and this helped me find ways to be more efficient
- I talk too much, and I’ve learn to tell wonderful stories
- I do not listen, and this helped me to start learning from my own mistakes
- I am a coward and this pushed me to find ways to avoid conflict and seek peace
- I worry to much, and I have created amazing plans and prevented big troubles
- I am always suffering and this let me understand other’s pain
- I am ugly, and I found other beautiful things in me
- I am not good enough and this made me reflect and grow and to keep trying

I have so many defects and within them I exist, they make me who I am, they brought happiness in me and now, in retrospective, I hope they don’t disappear. I am an imperfect human and I think maybe, and only maybe that is what makes me special. This is who I am. And that is everything I need.
